I am a Web Developer who happens to work in a very loud tv news room. This is the random rambalings that caught my ear on the Police Scanners.

Dispatcher: About an unknown problem.. Caller advised female wearing only jeans was rolling around on a grassy area.. Caller did not stop. ~ Apr 08

Dispatcher: a Boyfriend took her baby and is running down the street I have no further information at this time... ~ Feb 08

Dispatcher: a male subject carrying a rifle and riding a 4 wheeler. The caller advised that he just shot her dog and rode off. ~ Dec 07

Dispatcher: Caller advised someone wearing camouflage carrying a shotgun just ran through there yard ~ Nov 07

Dispatcher: The call involved a subject beating the car with a shovel. ~ Oct 07

officer: now the guy from action 10 decided he does not want to become a hood ornament.
other officer: yeah but we don't want to get in his way of taking pictures though. ~ Oct 07

Dispatcher: she says there are 2 white males standing in the parking lot with guns in the air and a third white male is swinging a chainsaw at them ~ Aug 07

Dispatcher: We have several reports at this time of a group of teens jumping on a trampoline naked in the back yard....

Rings around the moon

I took a picture of a lunar halo over a year ago and posted it. I was kind of surprised when i started getting allot of emails about it. Mainly people saying they have never seen one before etc. We seem to get them quite regularly along the Gulf Coast. I guess they are not so common in other parts of the world? or people don't go outside much on cold nights and look up at the sky. Anyway here are some of my Pictures of Lunar Halos over the past year or so, I try and take pictures of them whenever i see one but i cant always. more »

Fairhope Pictures Frozen Mobile Bay

I have had people who could not believe me when I told them about Mobile Bay Freezing. I was digging through some old photo albums this past weekend and ran across a few pictures my Dad had taken Showing Fairhope with Mobile Bay Frozen.

It is vary rare I have seen it happen 3 times and does seem very unlikely especially when it is not uncommon to have temperatures in the 70's in the middle of the winter. more »
