I am a Web Developer who happens to work in a very loud tv news room. This is the random rambalings that caught my ear on the Police Scanners.

Dispatcher: About an unknown problem.. Caller advised female wearing only jeans was rolling around on a grassy area.. Caller did not stop. ~ Apr 08

Dispatcher: a Boyfriend took her baby and is running down the street I have no further information at this time... ~ Feb 08

Dispatcher: a male subject carrying a rifle and riding a 4 wheeler. The caller advised that he just shot her dog and rode off. ~ Dec 07

Dispatcher: Caller advised someone wearing camouflage carrying a shotgun just ran through there yard ~ Nov 07

Dispatcher: The call involved a subject beating the car with a shovel. ~ Oct 07

officer: now the guy from action 10 decided he does not want to become a hood ornament.
other officer: yeah but we don't want to get in his way of taking pictures though. ~ Oct 07

Dispatcher: she says there are 2 white males standing in the parking lot with guns in the air and a third white male is swinging a chainsaw at them ~ Aug 07

Dispatcher: We have several reports at this time of a group of teens jumping on a trampoline naked in the back yard....

Tuesday November 13 2007 Joe Smith started the day early having set his alarm clock ( MADE IN JAPAN) for 6am. While his coffeepot (MADE IN CHINA ) was perking, he shaved with his electric razor (MADE IN HONG KONG ). He put on a dress shirt ( MADE IN S RI LANKA ), designer jeans ( MADE IN SINGAPORE ) and tennis shoes ( MADE IN KOREA ). After cooking his breakfast in his new electric skillet ( MADE IN TAHITI ) he sat down with his calculator ( MADE IN MEXICO ) to see how much he could spend today.

After setting his watch ( MADE IN TAIWAN ) to the radio ( MADE IN INDIA ) he got in his car ( MADE IN GERMANY ) filled it with GAS from Saudi Arabia and continued his search for a good paying AMERICAN JOB At the end of yet another discouraging and fruitless day checking his Computer ( Made In Malaysia ), Joe decided to relax for a while. He put on his sandals ( MADE IN BRAZIL ) poured himself a glass of wine ( MADE IN FRANCE! ) and turned on his TV ( MADE IN INDONESIA ), and then wondered why he can't find a good paying job in AMERICA..... more »

BRATS + WAVE oneday BART?

Monday November 05 2007 Having lived in San Francisco for a while and only used public transit or my 2 feet and now living back on the Gulf Coast, I have been a long time commuter from Mobile Bay's Eastern Shore to MidTown Mobile. I have often dreamed of a public transit system across Mobile Bay.
Finally there is some movement in getting a Mobile "Bay Area" transit system in place. Its called BayLink and it has a limited schedule for now, but should operate during the times that it could service 90+% of the commuting population. Unfortunately my work hours are a bit offset but it is a step in the right direction. more »

India Official Dies After Monkey Attack

Monday October 22 2007 This Story caught my attention because i have spent some time in New Delhi and have seen first hand how aggressive the local monkeys can be.

NEW DELHI: Delhi's Deputy Mayor S S Bajwa died in New Delhi on Sunday of head injuries after falling from the terrace of his house following an attack by monkeys.

Bajwa, a businessman and Delhi BJP Vice-President, was walking on the terrace of the first floor of his house when the monkeys attacked him after which he lost balance and fell from terrace at around 8 AM on Saturday.

Rockaway Armada meets US Coast Guard ??

A Vicksburg Miss US Coast Guard Press release got me thinking.. was the Press release Referring to the Rockaway Armada

The Miss Rockaway Armada is a group of approximately 25 performers and artists from all over the country including members of the Toyshop Collective, Visual Resistance, The Amateurs, The Floating Neutrinos, The Infernal Noise Brigade, The Madagascar Institute and the Rude Mechanical Orchestra. They Will construct a flotilla of rafts that will journey down the Mississippi River.
