I received an email from a Walter R. Dixon Stating " Guess what if I find you use the pole with my name on it for commercial purpose my attorney will contact you David! " My Response at first was what is this person talking about then i realized it was this picture.... My Response to him is below " ohh i get it you are talking about the Poll at Fish River that is black and white with Color edit. well First of all i do not do Photography for Commercial purposes. I take pictures because i enjoy taking them, and hopefully other people enjoy looking at them. Having said that i have done some studding up on what is "fair use" and what my legal rights are as a photographer. I would encourage you to study up on it before you send me a threat of a lawsuit for displaying a picture. The said Sign is on a public right of way and any photographer would have every right to take a picture of it and display it however they wished for commercial or private use. I have copied the County's Right of Way manager on this e-mail so he can validate that this is a legal street sign and is on the Right of way.
