blackball I stand corrected, The Van Antwerp Building was built  in the 1800's by my Uncle Cooper Van Antwerp's grandfather Garret Van Antwerp who was a druggist. The drug store on the ground floor was a landmark of Mobile till the 50's or 60's when it closed.  lumis Van Antwerp building

Awesome pictures of the hometown!! One interesting fact about the Antwerp building is that it was the South's FIRST skyscraper...Now to have the RSA building, the tallest in the state, you just GOTTA love downtown Mobile!!
